The Island nation’s semi-constitutional monarchy, with the current Queen regnant Akane in power, her mother(former ruling Queen Aia) in comfortable retirement, Princess Arisa (the oldest and in current training), and Princess Sin.
All members of the Felinorn royal family are born from a long bloodline of felines endowed with a very mysterious and powerful style of magic, one that holds incredibly dark and questionable roots in it’s origin. The Felinorn magic is only taught and practiced by the immediate family, whom continue to practice many of the ancient traditions and ceremonies during the solar and lunar holidays to this day.
It has been rumored the family line started as a cult on a distant land hundreds of thousands of years ago, one that was so questionable in it’s practice the cult members were forced to become nomadic, traveling across the harsh Sparkling Sea.
The Island’s name is said to have came from the utterance of the cult leader in awe as they landed their boat onto it’s shores, basking in the glory of the lucious and untouched semi-tropical land.
“It’s just like a Dream…”
Living beings that hold no magical abilities naturally, but are capable of using magic or performing witchcraft through means of enchanted tools or objects.
Mortal beings born into magically inclined families, or those who exhibit magical abilities naturally. Most tend to be natural witches, and are capable of applying their magic to every day tasks, casting spells and even broom flight. The specific type of magic or witchcraft greatly depends on the person’s preference. Commonly are split between two groups who practice a traditional style (forest style), and ones who practise a more modern version (urban style).
(May also be referred to as “Anomaly/Anomalies”)
A hybrid species that are the result of crossbreeding between a mortal and an "Other-worlder".
On the Island there have been four established “categories” of Anomera that umbrella several different sub-species of demons and other such beings. Meaning most individuals differ from the other, no two Anomera are exactly the same unless they are blood-relatives. They do not take on any physical traits from their non-mortal parents, making them indistinguishable between any other mortal citizen in a normal setting, and far more dangerous as a result of their ability to conceal their status.
The dominant genetics of their non-mortal parent and how it manifests within the individual will greatly determine if they are or are not capable of interacting with mortal society as they grow older.
For those who choose to continue to take part in the main society of the Island, they are required by law to enter themselves into the “Anomera Accountability and Safety” system developed by Albrecht Labs. Those who find themselves unable to control themselves or maintain therapies put in place, or even find it difficult to live around mortals will often retreat to living in the Black Mountains and Caldera “off the grid”.
"Other-worlder"
(May also be referred to as “Hell-beast”)
A general term for beings that pass through the inter-dimensional passage at the center of Abyss Caldera. The various beings can range from run-of-the-mill succubi and incubus, to lesser demons and devils, to even eldritch-esque cosmic horrors.
There are several types of beings that pass through regularly, many without the Islanders ever being aware of their existence. Some who pass through may choose to settle in the mountain ranges far away from any mortal civilizations that could detect their presence, but most use it as a gateway to whatever world or dimension they are trying to access, simply passing through the Island and paying the mortals little mind at all. Generally, there is very little to no interaction between the Islanders and these beings, most who choose to live in the city will only hear rumors of such beings existing. The only Islanders that ever come close enough to ever witness, or let alone encounter Other-worlder, are those in the Royal Felinorn Family… or those who live in Clover Town and just so happen to be particularly unlucky and go off-trail deep into the woods, too close to where the mountain range begins.
There have been rare cases where certain species have been able to integrate their way into the mortal, and even royal society, but interaction between the Island’s inhabitants and the beings that congregate near the Caldera and Mountains are greatly unheard of and openly discouraged for safety.
